A little while back, Six Flags Magic Mountain theme park opened up a roller coaster known as ‘X’, in which the train cars stuck out from the track, and flipped freely as the coaster went on the loops, drops and turns. Six Flags proclaimed it as a ‘5th dimension roller coaster,’ and it went on to gain much acclaim from theme park fans and coaster junkies alike. Unfortunately, frequent malfunctions with the coaster caused it to eventually shut down; it seemed that X had met its mighty end.

And then, one day, it was announced that X was coming back with new ride effects, vehicles, and track, and would be considered a new version, named X2. Excitement roared through the coaster enthusiast community, and all people could do was hold their breaths.

Now, X2 is officially open to the public, and will no doubt be a big attraction in SoCal for the next several months. Here’s a video (Note: not mine, but it has some good shots of the coaster)!
